Congressman Sidney Clark on last Tuesday introduced into the House a joint resolution providing for the relief of the settlers on the Osage Indian lands.  We do not know the substance of the resolution, but anything modifying from their unjust provisions the terms under which these settlers are permitted to prove their homes will be most welcome.  To Mr. Clarke and Ross of our congressional delegation we may look expecting them to use their power to favor the Osage Indian land settles.   The Allen County Courant, Iola, Kansas.  Saturday, January 18, 1868.  Page 2.  (c) Transcribed by Darren McMannis for the Kansas Council of Genealogical Societies, Inc.
