The Andrews schoolhouse, west of Salina, was struck by lightning during the storm Saturday afternoon and completely destroyed by fire.  The lightning struck the tower of the building and split it in half.  The structure burned rapidly and was in ruins in a remarkably short time, despite the rain which was falling.  The Kinsley Graphic, Kinsley, Kansas.  April 29, 1904.  Page 10.  © Transcribed by Darren McMannis for the Kansas Council of Genealogical Societies, Inc.
