A Full List of the Killed on Beaver Creek
KIRWIN, KS, Oct. 23, 1878 – After a journey of 300 miles since I wrote you from Oberlin, Decatur county, Kas., dated Oct. 12th, I reached Kirwin late this evening, by way of of the Republican Valley and Red Cloud. I have no time this evening to give you the more minute details of the continued and horrible outrages and murders of the savage and murderous Cheyenes in the valley of Beaver Creek, in the counties of Decatur and Rawlins, Kansas. I will send you a detailed account of the massacre on Beaver creek, Rawlins county, as soon as time and circumstances permit. I send you in this communication the death list of those who were murdered on Beaver Creek, Rawlins County, Kansas, October 1, 1878.
