LEAVENWORTH. Accident. Nellie Hungerford, daughter of Mr. Seth Hungerford, picked up what she supposed to be an extinguished firecracker, on the morning of the Fourth, and as she was holding it to her face it exploded, filling one of her eyes with the material of which it was composed and burning the organ severely. It is doubtful if the sight of the eye can be fully restored.
