ATCHISON, KAN. – Lieut. Clement Ripperger, who met death in an airplane crash at Riverside Fall, California, on March 31, formerly lived in Atchison. For five years he was employed here as a general mechanic. He went to Detroit several years ago and became a mechanical engineer for an automobile factory. Enlisting in the aerial service a year and a half ago he won rapid promotion and for some time prior to his death was an instructor. He was unmarried. His father, C.L.
