KANSAS CITY Jan. 8 – A snow storm vastly more severe than the recent blizzard is raging on the plains to the west.  No western trains arrived or departed last night.  Telegraphic communication with points west has been greatly interrupted, and many railroad wires are down.  The snow-fall is accompanied by strong winds and severe cold, and will undoubtedly cause much suffering among the cattle, probably entailing heavy losses.  The Williamsburg Journal Tribune, Williamsburg, Iowa.  January 15, 1886.  (c) Transcribed by Darren McMannis for the Kansas Council of Genealogical Societies, Inc.
